About the Presenter: Top of page

Brianna Norton is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the Hepatitis C Medical Director of the Comprehensive Health Care Clinic of Montefiore Medical Center. Dr. Norton is currently conducting an NIH funded study to investigate group HCV treatment in primary care for people who inject drugs. She is also the Medical Director of the New York Harm Reduction Educators, a syringe exchange operating in East Harlem and throughout the Bronx.

At the completion of this educational session, learners will:
  • Understand HCV treatment outcomes in persons who inject drugs.
  • Appreciate the unique barriers and facilitators to HCV care for PWID.
  • Know about the changing demographics of PWID with HCV.
  • Be aware of harm reduction strategies for primary and secondary prevention of HCV.
